Orthodontics
Orthodontics is a specialised field of dentistry, which involves the treatment of dental, facial and skeletal irregularities. These irregularities, either individually or in combination, make up a malocclusion. Orthodontic therapy utilises appliances called braces to bring improperly placed teeth and jaws into normal positions and relationships. An orthodontist is a qualified dental practitioner who has completed at least a further three years of full-time, postgraduate study in Orthodontics at a university.

Metal or Clear Braces
Ceramic braces are meant to be less noticeable, and so a good alternative to more traditional braces. Ceramic braces have brackets made of ceramic or porcelain, or in some cases plastic. The brackets can be clear or else coloured to be the same colour as your teeth. Metal Braces are made with stainless steel, and they are attached to the teeth. The wire is placed into the brackets and held in place with the help of the elastics. Over time, the wire is tightened, encouraging the movement of the teeth to reduce malocclusion and promote straighter, healthier teeth. Clear plastic aligner trays that focus on your alignment and bite concerns and needs, to swiftly correct any issues you have.
Early Treatment
What are the benefits of early orthodontic treatment? Early evaluation provides both timely detection of problems and greater opportunity for more effective treatment. Prudent intervention guides growth and development, preventing serious problems later. When orthodontic intervention is not necessary, an orthodontist can carefully monitor growth and development and begin treatment when it is ideal. It can include thumb sucking, Cross bites, Deep bites, improper growth of the jaw, early loss of primary teeth.
Adult Orthodontics
Adolescents go through a growth spurt, when they do get braces their teeth move faster. Getting orthodontic treatment at this age is advisable. It also helps boosting their self-esteem when they have perfect teeth. Most adults need a multidisciplinary approach during orthodontic treatment because of periodontal problems and missing teeth that occurred during their lifetime.
Surgical Orthodontics
In some non-growing patients with a severe misalignment of the jaws, the only way to correct the bite and improve the facial aesthetics is with combined surgical orthodontic treatment.
